COC is building a team of 10 to 15 to take to India at the end of September! Our host is an amazing ministry partner called Harvest India. Under their leadership and guidance, participants will trek across the globe, eating new foods, and interacting with amazing people, in a beautiful part of the world in Jesus name! Our group will be ministering in environments like churches, schools, orphanages, aids hospices, trafficking rescues, leprosy camps, food distributions and medical camps. We’ll be staying at the beautiful 5 story mission house which has comfortable beds, bedding, clean bathrooms, electricity, wifi AND coffee! No experience necessary! More Details and registration can be found below.
WHEN? Future dates are being discussed.
WHERE are we going? Tenali, India http://www.harvestindia.org
HOW much does the trip cost? $3,500 (approximate) per person. Price includesAirfare, Meals while in India, Accommodations, local travel, etc. Price does NOT include souvenirs, Food/Drinks on the way to and from, etc.
FUNDRAISING & PAYMENTS. We highly recommend team members to writing a support letter and mail it out to friends and family. The letter can also be used to create a Public Profile on Manage Mission (similar to a GoFundMe page). You will receive an invite one applications have been approved. See attached sample letter.
PASSPORT/VISA. A passport book is required. http://www.maricopa-az.gov/web/passports. If you are applying for a passport, please allow up to 3-6 weeks to receive it. A visa is also required. We will be completing applications together at one of our team meetings.
IMMUNIZATION AND GENERAL HEALTH INFORMATION. Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot. Please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for the most recent information, http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/india. Note from CDC: Zika is endemicin India, and we believe the risk to travelers is low. Because of the risk of birth defects in babies born to women who were infected with Zika while pregnant, women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should discuss their travel plans with their doctor and, if they decide to travel to India, strictly follow steps to prevent mosquito bites.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS & MEDICATIONS. If you are prone to health problems, we strongly recommend a thorough physical examination before traveling to India. Also, medical identification (tags, bracelet, card, etc.) must be carried by anyone with chronic illness such as diabetes or heart conditions. Persons with mental illness or physical disabilities are required to disclose such information to Cornerstone before being approved to travel. If you have special needs while in India (such as a medical condition, food allergies, or other special requirements), please let us know before your trip, and we will accommodate you as best as possible.
WHAT TO BRING? Prepare to be in another country for 10 days on a mission trip. The weather will be nice overall but humidJ; usually in the high 70’s low-mid 80’s
